STASA prexy Elected PASA VP
May 10, 2010

In a recent election of new officers for Philippine Aquatics Sports Association held in Cebu Shangrila Hotel, last April 24, 2010, STASA prexy Luisito “Tito Louie” Mangahis was elected Vice President for the term 2010-2014. The ever smiling and accommodating STASA officer was chosen from among the swimming stalwarts all over the country that converged and conducted the election of officers for the next four years in accordance with the POC rules on the orderly conduct of NSA elections (POC General Assembly Resolution 1-2007 dated 24 January 2007).

Mangahis is concurrently the Chairman of PASA Water Polo Committee and was elected President anew to STASA last Nov. 30, 2009 for a term of two years. He first came into STASA hierarchy when there was a sudden clamor for new leadership in the organization and was unanimously installed to the position by some of the concerned parents. And the rest was history. With his stunning leadership, STASA become the most organized regional swimming body despite incessant issues that marred the national swimming body. STASA’s financial system has been at its peak, membership has ballooned to 31 clubs and more than 700 swimmers, and the regional swimming body has been as stable ever since he took the cudgels for STASA.

With his election to the national swimming body we are assured of a voice who will intercede for our cause.
